Tessera

Privacy Policy

This is a translation provided for convenience. If it differs from the Ukrainian version, the Ukrainian version prevails.

1. What data the application sends

At startup and every 24 hours while it is running, Tessera sends the following to the server: a random installation identifier (a UUID stored locally on first launch of a release build), the license identifier (or an empty value if there is no license), the application version, and the operating system (the “ping”). The application does not send your email, license key, host names, or any inventory data.

2. What the server stores

For each installation the server stores one record: the fields listed above, the country derived from the IP address through Cloudflare's geolocation, and the dates of the first and the most recent ping. The IP address itself is not written to our database. Cloudflare, which hosts the server, processes it to deliver the request, derive the country, and rate-limit requests, and may keep it in its operational logs for its own retention period. The license identifier can be matched to the purchase record, so for licensed installations the ping is not anonymous.

3. Purposes of processing

For licensed installations the ping is used to verify that use stays within the number of purchased seats under the license agreement (performance of a contract). For free installations the data is used only for aggregate usage statistics to plan the development of the application (legitimate interest).

4. Retention

Records with no ping for more than 180 days are deleted automatically by a daily cleanup job. Deleted records may persist in Cloudflare D1 point-in-time backups for up to 30 days.

5. Turning the ping off

In free mode you can turn the ping off in Settings → About → License by unchecking “Send usage statistics”. The ping is sent from the very first launch. Turning it off stops future pings. The record of a free installation can be deleted sooner: first turn the ping off (otherwise the next ping creates the record again), then send the installation ID from the local file install_id.json (macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/app.tessera.Tessera, Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\tessera\Tessera\config, Linux: ~/.config/tessera) through section 7 (Contact); otherwise it is deleted automatically after 180 days without pings. Ping records linked to your license (this does not include purchase data; see section 6) are deleted on request through section 7 (Contact) (state the purchase email or the license key), but while the key stays activated the app keeps pinging and a new record appears with the next ping; to stop it, remove the key from the app, after which the free mode setting applies. Licensed installations always send the ping, because it is needed to verify the number of seats under the license agreement.

6. Purchase data

When you buy a license we store your email, the number of seats, the order amount and currency, the payment status, the monobank invoice identifier, the full payment notifications from the payment provider, and the issued license keys. This data is needed to issue the key and to resend it on request, and for accounting, refunds, and key revocation. This data is not deleted automatically and is kept for as long as these purposes require; deletion requests are honored to the extent these purposes allow.

7. Contact

The data is processed by Individual Entrepreneur Kyrylo Holovchenko (see the Public Offer at /en/offer). Send requests about your data, including deletion requests, to support@tesseraremote.com.
